Have more Courage

I thought this was the perfect subject to start with since I am bringing back the blog & the reason for that is quite apt because when I did my first video to put it out there that I am going to blog again about subjects & things I am passionate about - which by the way, I like to put things out there to make myself accountable.   It works for me! I've actually done a few videos as I do some short training clips for my team so I am o.k, not perfect, but o.k with sitting & talking into the camera & I am aware I have lots to learn, but that's part of the fun.  That day I had met a friend for lunch at the The Core Juice Bar & I had mentioned that I needed to do a quick film after & it HAD to be done today because it is
'International Woman's Day' & I like the surroundings.  By the time we had finished catching up, I had about 20 minutes to get this quick film done before I had to get back to the car in time for the ticket to go pick up my son from pre-school! "Plenty of time" I thought because I only want it to be a couple of minutes.

I felt completely fine with the idea, in fact I thought it was a brilliant Idea then all of a sudden the Core emptied leaving  just the owner, two staff cleaning around & myself! It was really quiet because there was no music so I suddenly felt this wave of panic come over me thinking "what the hell are you doing woman & why the hell did you think this was a good idea to do in a public place in the first place?"...and so the internal battle commences!

I quickly started writing notes to calm my thoughts but I was more concerned with the guys walking around & hearing what I was saying so what I actually ended up doing was being sat there looking at this little note pad not actually reading anything but telling myself to just "bloody get on & do this video, time is running out, your going to be late for the car park & to get to preschool - just do it & do it now" then of course my other little voice piped up & if you can imagine this other bitchy, sarcastic little she devil on my shoulder that looks just like me, filing her nails, shaking her head telling me "yeah go for it, you won't at all look like an idiot & who do you think you are anyway - Oprah?"

So of course, bitchy sarcastic me won so I packed my things away but my coat on & started to leave then suddenly I thought - "HELL NO, you are doing this, what's the worst that can happen? They hear me speaking wondering who I'm talking to, notice I'm filming then get back on with their work? It's 2 minutes out of your WHOLE LIFE - just do it!"

I actually went back & forth like this putting my coat on 2 more times until I finally plucked up the courage to and did it" Yes I was a about 5 minutes late to collect my car but that was fine, on time collecting my son - double fine & I did the video! I felt AWESOME!

Why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we care SO much what other people think? Why do we invest so much time in trying to seek approval from the stranger in Starbucks rather than just feeling more at peace with who we are & choosing to self love first?

My latest obsession & who I am currently learning loads from is Dr Brene Brown, this lady is awesome, her TED Talk has over 4 million views & it's just absolutely brilliant - I feel like I am close to pretty much having watched all the videos I can find on her on youtube already - some more than once, including the TED talk... She's that great!  I am off on my hols very soon & I have ordered here book - 'Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead' for my holiday read (having said that, this is my first holiday with a 3 yr old - I'm not exactly sure how much reading I will actually get done - but I do like to read at least 10 pages of a good book each day - so, here's hoping).  I know it's going to be life changer for me & I actually already cannot wait to get her other books.  I will no doubt be talking more on the best bits from the book to share with you,

One of the things (& why I wanted to write this specific blog) that I love that she shared is what 'courage' actually means.  Courage comes from the latin word Cour - which means Heart "to speak ones mind by telling all one's heart" - I absolutely loved that & it really struck a cord with me because, to live wholeheartedly & be authentic you!

The past 6 years of my life have been a real journey of REALLY understanding who I am as a person & I am learning, growing & becoming more comfortable with who I am every single day.  Meeting my therapist at 25 (I really do think I had a "quarter life crisis") was what set me off on a whole new path that I am still wondering down, she completely changed my life... but that's a whole other blog for a whole other day!

So what have you been putting off, burying, telling yourself - "I will do it later" that you could pluck up the courage to do a live a little more wholehearted & feel absolutely epic after? Which you will & then do me a favour & see if this little test works, once you have plucked up the courage to do the thing that you have been putting off doing & then you get the buzz after you have done it.... do something else, keep acting on that excitement & I guarantee you will finish the day on a whole other level than you anticipated.

A couple of action steps to immediately help overcome that shitty little voice in your head.

1.  Write down your negative thoughts; This totally helps for me.  If I write it down, I find it stops me taking the scenic route around "pittysville" which ultimately leaves me feeling exhausted.  I find it also just empties my head - it's a bit like a 'brain dump' & once it's written down, I instantly feel lighter & when I read it I can see that actually, there is no concrete evidence to back up what I've been telling myself which then makes me feel a lot better about myself.

2. This is a new one I've been practicing & it totally works - I think it's genius.  Again something I have learnt from Brene Brown so once "that" voice starts chirping up in your head, knock it back down by simply saying "I hear you, I get it, but I'm doing it anyway - thanks!"....Try it!

Let me know.  Excited to hear what you did & how it went.

Hope you took something of value, Lianna x

Bringing the Blog Back

Well, I have revived the blogging again.  I have been talking about it for a while & working on the kind of content I want to have in this blog & what I want to do with it so I hope you enjoy what I share.

I'm nervous but excited about sharing my new content with you, It's a work in progress - bit like myself, so bare with me whilst I get into a good flow.  Also, doing something like this, a bit like with my juicing posts - it reminds me to keep it up, holding myself accountable.

I've learnt a lot on the old social media department since starting my business 2 years ago & I have learnt so much from lots of free content over the Internet, especially youtube, youtube nowadays is my TV in all honesty - I'm always on it.  So, being very grateful to those who have shared their content allowing me to learn, grow & develop myself, I thought I may do the same in hopes to inspire someone too.

From a very young age I have always been very passionate about helping people, my first career choice was to be a councilor (Therapist nowadays) - unfortunately, being young & easily influenced into thinking I'm stupid - the career advice woman completely put me off when I excitedly told her what I wanted to do when she pretty much threw her head back & said "pah, that is a LOT of work" so by the end of that conversation, I remember feeling so small & silly - I gave up on that idea & decided that maybe I should do the girly thing & be a beauty therapist/makeup artist... at least I was still helping people.

It's always been in my nature.  I constantly heard growing up aside from being a 'lovely polite girl' that I was 'too sensitive, I think everyone is nice, I'm gullible'.... It's taken me until now to understand that actually, those are quality traits that allow to me to see the world in my own unique way, have compassion & go off my instinct.

We all have our own unique gift of expression & how we deliver things so I will just be myself.

You can expect to see things about how I try to lead as healthy lifestyle as I can.  I will share some of my favourite juice recipes & for those that already follow me, I love to bake & I love to find healthier versions of what I already like so will share some of those recipes too so they will all be in one place. I will obviously be sharing a little about the product I am passionate about but that isn't actually my main focus - my main objective with this is to help people with living a more balanced life so there will also be some hot topics too to discuss.

I feel like I will have to ease people into this, as I've reached my 30's, I've also reached another level of confidence in being more true to myself.  Some people will know this side of me already but a lot of people won't.  I sometimes feel like I'm a bit of an onion - there are lots of layers to me & not everyone gets past the first few :)/

It's great to be in a position where I have the time & flexibility to do the things that interest me most with self development being something I love to continuously work on, so here goes.

Welcome :)

Product of the Week: Mask Powder

Or should I say "Botox in a pot"!!! This is from our luxurious Fleur de Jouvence range (Flower of Youth) and is an ultra-fine powder with a unique combination of rich ingredients to smooth, condition and cleanse the skin whilst renewing skin cells and new cell growth.  In other words, if you want to firm, refine & tighten the skin without sticking needles in your face - this is what you need in your life!

The Fleur range is everything your skin needs to appear healthy and radiant & even if you don't use the whole range, it's still good to treat yourself to an at home mask once a week.  It is designed to blend perfectly with the Fleur Aloe Activator to make for a smooth & easy application mask for the face & neck.

There are great benefits of doing a face mask and I I always recommend my clients to apply a face mask at least once a week (personally I do a face mask twice a week, although if truth be told, I never used to & that was quite frankly because I never came across one I was happy with).  If your not really big on your skin care routine, this is one of the quickest & easiest ways to nourish & tighten your skin whilst removing dead skin cells! A mask will also help to refine your pores and with this mask being full of antioxidants, it is great for ageing skin.

Remember Aloe is the No.1 healer for skin & the No.1 for Anti Ageing - Forever have the most amazing Aloe based products that you will not find on the high street.

Why not treat yourself to a little me time & start to schedule in a weekly face mask, you will feel better for it & no matter how busy you are, 'Me Time' is a must!

Product of the Week - Aloe Nourishing Serum

Being a beauty therapist & having these amazing products at my fingertips really fill me with excitement.  Not only because I get to share them with my clients but I love being able to share with them the benefits from using the products & how they REALLY do work for the skin.

The Sonya range is our most luxurious skin care range & my top choice for my clients & facials.  The Aloe Nourishing serum being the icing on the cake - well, it kind of actually is as this is a daily moisturiser & what I use to finish off the facial & there is no denying the delight in how silky soft my clients skin feels after! I just love it! So do they!

So why is it so good?
I will write another blog on the magic behind the Sonya Skincare range and following my Beauty Business training day I went on with company, I was absolutely blown away with the benefits of these products & the ingredients inside them.  The Serum is applied to hydrate, nourish and protect your skin from loss of moisture.  It is so light weight, you only need 2-3 pumps, hence why this, along with all our products last so long!  It contains white tea extract which is an EXCELLENT anti-ageing ingredient but also contains antioxidants which you need to help protect your skin against free radicals.  Along with these two little miracle workers & a dose of vitamin E (Tocopheryl), of course you have our amazing Aloe, but there is another ingredient called 'Mimosa Bark extract'.  I personally had never even heard of this before but I love learning about what it does.  Mimosa is basically known for it's ability to restore and regenerate the damaged top layer of your skin (epidermis).  This will help the skin return to it's natural pigmentation.

So all these key ingredients together are going to feed & protect your skin like a moisturiser is supposed to - right?

This is such a big hit with my clients - I'm sure you can see why!

Product of the Week - Aloe Lips

This time of year I used to be one of these people that would be in boot's grabbing a supply of lip balms before my lips started cracking from the cold.  Seriously, cracked lips are not a good look... on anyone! Don't get me wrong, my handbag has never been without a lip balm since about 1995 so I'm not saying it's a new thing - I'm sure all of you have this little handy stick of moisturising bliss too!

What I love about our Aloe lips is it is pure indulgent instant moisture - I absolutely love it!  I realised how much I loved it when I ran out a couple of weeks ago & used an old carmex one... which by the way having applied 3/4 coats to give that easy glide feeling when you rub your lips together - it also made my lips peel?

So this is my product of the week - Aloe Lips, so simply smoothing & moisturising in 1 not 5 coats and of course with it being aloe vera based with added jojoba & beeswax it is a highly effective all season lip care product that will provide those luscious lips with all the wintery protection they need.

With it being that time of year, this is a great little stocking filler or secret santa gift & remember, no one will want to kiss those chapped lips under the mistletoe - even if you are married!

Did you know?  You can use aloe lips on an any other part of the body to calm irritated skin? I love using it as a little magic stick on little grazed knees!

Aloe Baby

Don't worry - I'm not about to start preaching on WHY you should use Aloe on your child!!! We all choose something we like & what works & that's fine - I'm just sharing with you what I prefer, my own experience & why I love knowing I use Aloe on my son!

Firstly, having had sensitive skin all my life & by sensitive I mean eczema as a child, spotty skin (pretty much ALL my life) & skin that breakouts from using products that are too highly perfumed - I knew that I only wanted to use natural products on my son and the fact that he ended up having eczema too - made my hunt for the best products to use on him even more ambitious.  I am the kind of person who looks at labels whether it be food or products & if it has a long list of ingredients i don't use it or eat it! There is a lot of use of olive oil, almond oil & coconut oil in our household for skin & hair which work very well.

When my son was born we had lots of products given to us as gifts - which were lovely & had that new "baby smell" to them - however, the thought of using them on his delicate newborn skin made my skin crawl.  I never forget my massage tutor at college explaining why we should never use baby oil on skin (won't go into that!) & it just stuck with me.  I'm pretty sure most reading this have no doubt rolled your eyes by now - but hey, we all have our own opinions on what works for us right?!  Having said that - an old work colleague of mine has ONLY ever used a certain brand of Baby Lotion on her FACE & her skin is absolutely amazing - I wouldn't even dream of putting that on my face!

So having stumbled across Forever products from an old school friends post & learning that they were all Aloe Vera Based - I jumped at the chance to get my hands on them.  In fact - I thought it was JUST what I was looking for!  Sometimes you forget things & it takes just one person to mention it & your like "aha - yes, I remember..." and in this case I was asking myself why I hadn't thought of Aloe before.  The products I chose to use on my son were perfect & still use them now & of course we use them too... great for the whole family.

If you are anything like me & just that tad bit funny about what you like to use or what you can & can't use, I urge you to read on & give these amazing products a try - I will never use anything else, they totally work for us & I cannot rave about them enough... hence why I became a distributor!

My No.1 Choice - Aloe Hand & Face Soap!
"Soap?" I hear you saying?  That's what I said too & was very dubious because when you think of soap you probably think - drying, harsh & why the hell would I use this on my face let alone my child? Well let me tell you I couldn't have been more wrong.  When I first ordered the Hand & Face Soap I firstly tried & tested it on myself - of course & OMG, I couldn't believe how silky soft it was, secondly I couldn't believe how a small pea sized amount frothed up so much & thirdly - it removed all my make up, including mascara & left no residue on my cotton wool when it came to toning my face (like I would normally get from using a face wash from the high street).  I couldn't believe it - it was love at first pump!  So obviously I had no problem using it on my son & loved the fact that I could use it as a hair shampoo for him too.  The best thing about this product is it LASTS for MONTHS!  It lasted us just over 3 months of daily use & remember that's not just using it on my son, we were all using it!  Highly recommend this & imagine how long it would last if you only use it on your little one? (doubt you will be able to keep your hands off it though).

Aloe Vera Gelly - absolute MUST HAVE!  This is literally first aid in a tube.  It lives constantly in my son's nappy bag & I do not leave home without it.  It can be used for absolutely anything & can be used anywhere you can reach.  The Gelly contains the most Aloe out of all of our topical creams & is almost like using it from the leaf itself.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product & have so far used it for dry skin conditions, insect bites, kitchen burns, itchy eyes in hayfever season (stopped me getting those eye blisters from all the rubbing - also popped some in my nostrils to prevent sneezing), cuts & grazes, little ones bum to prevent nappy rash, teething, sore nipples from breastfeeding & I have even swallowed a spoonful when I had a sore throat for instant relief!  The list is endless & every house hold should have one because you will need it at some point (especially when kids are running around - or even on your pet).  Aloe heals the skin 70 times faster - so this really is a product worth investing in.

Aloe Propolis Creme - This is actually what I use every day on my skin, I love it but for babies it is also fantastic.  It is our Aloe Gel mixed with Bee Propolis & Chamomile.  Again, excellent for dry skin irritations & a lot of babies, including my own - had baby acne /  heat rash, so this is perfect to apply for this.  Other uses like nappy rash, cuts & grazes for older children & perfect for teenage skin! Bee propolis is a natural antiseptic, antibiotic & has antibacterial, antifungal & even antiviral properties... mixed with Aloe & its a double "anti-whammy".

My little ones FAVE! Aloe Bright Toothgel - He always asks for more every time we brush his teeth.  Again, this also contains Bee Propolis but the reason I love this for babies, children & beyond is the fact that it is FLUORIDE FREE.  I remember when his first tooth came through & read that you should start brushing almost straight away, I was looking at the back of the toothpaste tube & said to my husband "it says supervise & don't allow to swallow - What?" of course, he knows what I'm like - if something has instructions - I like to follow, that's what they are there for! I couldn't quite figure out how i was going to teach my son not  to swallow the toothpaste... at 3 months old!  I know, I know - your probably rolling your eyes again & saying "calm down, it's only a little bit" but a little bit over a long period of time is a lot in my eyes & granted, I've managed all these years but there is no harm in becoming educated in something later down the line & deciding if you still want to change.  I know plenty of people who don't even know what fluoride is, let alone your toothpaste contains it.  If your not bothered - don't change it, but as I say - it makes me comfortable knowing that he is OK to swallow it - which he does do & he likes it, so in our house - it's a win/win.

If you have read my other blog on Aloe Vera Drinking Gel then you know how obsessed i am with it but did you know that you can start giving your child it from 1yr onwards with just a small 2.5ml shot? I find the best way is to give it in a syringe - my son doesn't mind it at all - we have s lovely Aloe Bits N' Peaches too which is a hit with children because it tastes so good & there is no time like the present to start building their immune system up & getting extra vitamins & minerals inside them.  I have noticed that he isn't catching half as much from toddler groups we go to & even if he does, he powers through & you would hardly notice... love it!

13.11.14 - Update! Well after posting this blog yesterday, I ended up discovering another little miracle worker for little ones over night - Heat Lotion! Having spend the previous night with much much more broken sleep than normal because my son has been coughing, I decided to pop some heat lotion on his chest & on the soles of his feet & I have to say, yes - even I was even surprised it worked - he didn't cough all night until about 5am in the morning! Completely impressed & will most definitely be keeping well stocked on this little number which is normally kept in my husband gym bag.  I believe Eucalyptus that is mixed with the Aloe in this heat lotion, helped clear is chest & airways.... Super Pleased!

These are my favourite products for the whole family, I bet your family will love them too!

Why not mix & match these products & give them as a gift for new parents, they will love these products, I assure you & of course - all come with our 60 day money back guarantee & that includes open & used products... cannot tell you the amount of products that I have opened & decided I don't like or don't work for me that I cannot take back.

Weight just a minute... You lost WHAT in 9 Days?

The first time I heard about our weight management programme, especially the 9 day cleanse - even I was sceptical.  I was absolutely floored by the amount of weight people were losing in just 9 days but also, I was a bit miffed - how the hell hadn't I heard about this back when I ridiculously did the dukan diet to fit into a dress I couldn't get into & only had 28 days to get into it!   Talk about Panic!  This was the first time that I ever did a media endorsed diet.  Sorry - I don't believe in them, I think they are unhealthy, dangerous & waste of time & effort - that is my own personal opinion & regardless of the fact that YES I did lose the weight & I did fit into the dress, I felt AWFUL!  I was low on energy, I wasn't feeling good about the fact that I had lost the weight because it had stripped me of any enthusiasm due to the fact it wasn't fun to follow & like EVERYONE else who follows these diets - the weight came back on.  Argh! It makes me so angry when I see the "new craze, must try" diet flying around because a "celebrity" has done it so it MUST be good for us right?  I mean, wake-up!

We all know that obesity is a problem, I won't go into that, but I feel that the other problem is people putting on weight, deciding they want to lose it, go on a crash diet & starve their bodies, lose a few pounds, feel great & then go out binge drinking & eating to celebrate then pile it all back on....repeat cycle! WHY?

I don't even like the word DIET - I don't use it, it should be a lifestyle change!  When people say "I'm on a diet" I can already see the cyle above beginning.

Another peeve of mine is the fact that people will buy the cheapest form of weight-loss supplements & then wonder why, again - the weight never stayed off! Whenever I recommend our 9 day cleanse, most people have had a friend who have done it & gotten great results but for those who have never heard of it & just think I am trying to sell them something for my own gain, the sceptics, I pretty much put them into 2 catagories.  Those that think it sounds great but still choose go ahead with cheaper products, half heartedly stick to the plan because they have a night out on the weekend where they will likely spend x3 the amount of what was spent on the products anyway. Two - those who are willing to spend a little more money on something that has real results because have seen and/or heard fantastic reviews, have been advised on how it works and have decided that they actually, would like to make a change to their health and will unlikely to have the rebound effect.

So why do I absolutely believe in & rave about our 9 day cleanse?  Well, because it's not JUST for those that want to lose weight.  It's a nutritional cleansing programme with the added benefit of weight-loss.  If you have a lot of weight to lose, your going to lose it, if you don't - you aren't.  I cannot deny the fact that the cleanse is mainly advertised for weight loss because it does have amazing result & 9/10 the majority are doing it with the intention of losing weight.  However, we do have those that do it purely for the nutritional value of the programme and would like to give their bodies a overhaul & feel more energised.  We have a lot of sports enthusiasts who do it to get their body back into peak performing mode whether they have had time off due to season end or are getting back into a new training routine.  We also have those who do the cleanse because they may have a digestive complaint and want to give their system a flush.  It's a product for everyone!

However, say goodbye to our Clean 9 & Nutrilean programme & say hello to our BRAND NEW being launched in the UK right now - Forever F.I.T programme!!!  When I went to one of our training days recently, we had the Forever Nutritional advisor beam into us & omg, I have never ever heard a cleansing & weight management programme be explained in so much detail & enthusiasm that I just wanted to get out there, tell everyone the science behind it & more to the point - do it myself!  I was actually blown away with the amount of detail that goes into putting these products together & it just confirmed to me even more why our products, I feel, are the absolute best out there - hands down!  I have yet to come across 1 negative review on our cleanse or weight management, simply because nutritionally speaking - there is nothing better & you will find nothing better, it also put together but the absolute best in the nutritional world too!  It's amazing & I know the rest of the Forever Family are really excited about it.

So the next time you are thinking about doing the latest diet, as yourself is it really worth going through all that for short term results.  Is it not worth investing a little more in something that will feed your body rather than starve it for a short amount of time for a long term benefit?  Third, if you are reading this in your lunch break at work... how much do you spend daily on your coffee food & snacks & then add that up over 9 days!  You will be surprised...
